Arthritis is a disorder that affects joints. General symptoms are joint pain and stiffness. Other symptoms that may be included are redness, warmth, swelling and reduced range of motion in the affected joints.
While there are more than 100 types of arthritis osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid arthritis are most common. Osteoarthritis is a degenerative bone disorder and usually occurs with affecting knees, bones and hips. While Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disorder which affects hands and feet.
A few tips to manage arthritic pain are as follows.
MEDICATION
Take your medication regularly to avoid worsening of the symptoms.
MASSAGE
Warm mustard oil and add camphor oil or a few pieces of camphor to it. Now gently massage the painful joints.
The heat producing properties of mustard oil along with remarkable analgesic ( pain relieving) properties of Camphor will effectively relieve arthritic pain in a few minutes.
Add few drops to tea tree oil to to couple of tbsps of Olive oil and massage lightly. Do it for 10 to 15 minutes or until the pain goes away.
Adding Pepper mint essential oil to your massage oil also makes the pain go away.
EXERCISE
Mobility is essential while handling Arthritic pain . Low impact exercises not only improve joint flexibility as a long term arthritic output. If required, physical therapy can also taken to improve mobility of the joints.
DIET
Avoid highly fatty, spicy, deep fried food. Avoid processed dairy with the exception of yogurt and goats cheese.
Avoid Alcohol and quit smoking as they exacerbate the situation.
REST
Catch up on sleep if you are lacking. Enough rest is also essential for increased mobility and enhanced range of motion.
